Character's NV Alouette's NV is a copy of a rare book called  'Book of Adventure'. It transformed into a computer book upon reaching the Port. Crazy, innit?
Occupation: At Funtom Toys and Sweets
Home: Alouette lives in  [personal profile] where_the_hearth_is  with Recette, located on the beach at the very point where sectors 4 and 7 meet.

The House has six balconies, each providing a different, stunning view of the surrounding Antarctic mountains ornamented with elaborate networks of waterfalls the Port and the surrounding ocean. The grounds include several greenhouses and subterranean thermal gardens, and magnificent ice sculptures around the shuttle landing pad which will regrettably melt in the Port’s spring. The inside of the house is spacious but not massive. Its exquisitely tastefully designed rooms are centered around a stone fireplace and replicate the aesthetic tradition of the “rustic cabin” historically found in boreal climates. The House contains kitchens, dining rooms, bedrooms, parlors, and all the other necessities and luxuries appropriate to a person of its mistress’s station.

Alouette has used her computer book to create an approximate (and very crude) floor plan of the house:

Abilities
The ability to recognize the name and purpose of an item at a glance.

Her knowledge on purpose, however, is limited by her understanding of modern science (She comes from fantasy/middle ages, at a point where science isn't nearly as advanced as it is in modern times, with the exception of vending machines and air conditioning. Those exist somehow.)  She also has the ability to determine which is more valuable between two similar items.

For example, she would know an iPod is called an iPhone despite telephones not existing in her world. Therefore she could only describe it's purpose as a 'device for communication'. She would not know it is a type of smartphone, how to operate it, what it communicates with, or it's additional features without researching it herself.
If she had a 3G model in one hand and a 4S model in the other, she would be able to determine the 4S is more valuable.

On the other hand she would also be able to determine that a comic from 1940 is more valuable than a comic book from 2001 despite not being from those times. She would have to do some research to understand why that is the case. She would describe one as 'a fancy children's book'.
